Chinese Dragon Legends, Stories and Facts

We see marvelous Chinese dragons in posters, paintings, and pictures on the streets during Chinese festivals. This mythical creature is widely known all over the world. Most Chinese people believe that the dragon originated during the time when Huang Di, the Yellow Emperor ruled China between 2696 and 2598 BC. There was actually a snake on Huang Di’s coat-of-arms and every time he won a ferocious battle he sometimes added the symbol from his opponent’s coat-of-arms to his own. And that’s how the Chinese dragon came to be made up of so many different animals.
